A family home held together by a spine of brick that runs from the front door to the back deck, this home provides an haven of light and tranquility nestled amongst the leafy treescape of Ku-ring-gai Council.
The floorplate is split up into several usage zones so that the occupants of the home are never crossing noise or comfort levels and each room can perfectly perform as designed. The study has ample lighting for taskwork in the quietest part of the house whilst the living and dining spaces are directly connected to the kitchen, alfresco and backyard spaces. The master suite sits elevated on its own split level, only a short flight of stairs from the kids' bedrooms, their bathroom and living space.
The brick spine is the design feature that is prominent throughout the dwelling and terminates at the rear alfresco where the graded landscapes bookend the narrow site from the open front yard.
Tree canopies surround the property and the landscaping is integrated into the building envelope with hanging gardens, internal courtyards and vines forming shading to north-facing windows.
The material selection of brick and metal cladding provide significant longevity for the dwelling and double glazed windows, in-slab floor heating and increased levels of floor insulation help create a comfortable home suitable for the environment.
